What everyone has ... ( 2 weeks ago by mfella40)
What everyone has to take into account is that the security or police who administer a shot from a taser, give MANY orders to comply. In almost every case if the person cooperates there will be no taser. A person begins to act in a violent way then they must be handled accordingly. For the pretoection of the officers tasing is safer then attempting to have a struggle with them.A heart or respiratory condition does not matter--tasers do not affect involuntary systems of the body. i.e. heart/lungs

That guy. Honestly, he would have saved himself alot of trouble if he JUST LEFT. People who think the police acted wrongfully in this situation are unintelligent and uneducated. So shut the hell up and get real. fuckin hippies.
The guy is ... ( 2 weeks ago by danphobic)
The guy is handcuffed and on his knees with more than one officer dealing with him. There is nothing hippy about saying the only reason to continually Taser him is to inflict pain which is just vindictive. There are many people who get a kick out of inflicting pain on people. I understand the need to guarantee the officers personal security but that was not an issue here.

I go to UCLA, and it is a strict policy, that after 10PM on weekends and 11PM on weekdays, EVERYONE in the library must have their BruinCard(student card) or they must leave. This is to preserve the valuble books in the library. It is legal to shoot a trespasser when they come on your property. Tasering is minor, I believe. He trespassed, was asked to leave, didn't leave, so he got tasered which is much less than he deserved. Thanks end of story..

so when they asked for their badge number, that was pretty much just asking to get tasered right? and tasering a bi-polar person is alright too right? oh wait its not...
Whatever happened ... ( 2 weeks ago by Efferts)
Whatever happened to "following orders"?
These kids go to school, encouraged to conduct their freedoms, and now feel they're immune to countermeasures no matter how slight their wrongdoing. The public doesn't realize that an authoritative security figure isn't there to debate. They are NOT your PEERS. And to be rational, who'd argue wi
th an armed man trained in submission methods?? C'mon. Use your brains!
I don't buy that ... ( 2 weeks ago by Efferts)
I don't buy that story since a person with such vulnerabilities would act carefully and aware of consequence.
It's like a pregnant woman starting fist fights. That's senseless!
It shouldn't be ... ( 2 weeks ago by Medulaman683)
It shouldn't be right to shoot someone when they are trespassing!! I don't know at what time this occurred so if it was during the day, then your whole statement is irrelevant. But let's just say it was late at night for sake of argument: he wasn't hurting anyone or threatening anyone until he was aggressively attacked by the policemen who were supposed to be protecting the students. In this case, the police did the exact opposite. So it's not "end of story", sorry to break it to you.
Whatever happened ... ( 2 weeks ago by Medulaman683)
Whatever happened to police acting intelligently and rationally and (dare I say it) actually using their brain's before using submission methods on someone? This guy didn't do anything wrong; he was in the library minding his own business reading! And you brought up another problem among Americans today; this seemingly outdated "authority is alright right" and "always follow orders" mentality. Authority should most certainly be questioned (nonviolently however) especially in cases like this.
So basically you're ... ( 2 weeks ago by Efferts)
So basically you're requesting leniency whenever you commit a wrong.
Never gonna happen, & I hope it won't ever. Don't follow the rules, your liberty (& dignity) is forfeited. That's not hard.
Consequences follow while not carrying an ID. He didn't have his ID, consequences followed! LOL It can't be more simplified.
I think that ... ( 2 weeks ago by Medulaman683)
I think that there's a big difference between what most reasonable people consider a wrong & what you consider a wrong. People should be punished when they actually do something wrong, which would therefore imply that nothing should have happened to the man in this video. If anyone committed a wrong here, it was the police. And "liberty and dignity" should not be forfeited if one don't follow the rules, & the founding fathers agreed with this (Bill of Rights in the Constitution). Simple as that
Your shit won't fly ... ( 2 weeks ago by Efferts)
Your shit won't fly.
Their measure of apprehension is an instruction & learned tactic. Didn't know- too bad! Don't like it- then follow the rules!
Carry your ID, & you avoid this. Refer to the vid as a visual aid. How an individual, expectedly the culprit, weighs the problem has zero validation.
You don't enforce nor enact the rules. Therefore, you have no say- PERIOD! Want to change that? Join the force & make director, otherwise, BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Ha I love how you ... ( 2 weeks ago by Medulaman683)
Ha I love how you completely stopped making sense. It's a damn shame that people like you blindly support this. Their "measure of apprehension" is unprovoked police brutality, not "instruction and learned tactic". I refuse to follow the rules if they are being enforced by people like the officers in this video. You don't like it; too god damn bad. You don't enforce or enact the rules either, so don't fool yourself into believing that your conceited opinion is better or more important than mine.

My opinion? That's what JUST happened, and what always will. You're at odds because what you feel that should hasn't.
Too sad.
"he wasn't hurting ... ( 1 week ago by vidvidvidvidvid)
"he wasn't hurting anyone or threatening anyone", really? He REFUSED to show his ID, which posts a threat to everyone. How would you know whether he's a bad guy or not? And worst of all, he refused to leave. Well then, let's do it the hard way.
Yes, he wasn't ... ( 1 week ago by Medulaman683)
Yes, he wasn't hurting or threatening anyone you moron. And since when is not showing an ID threatening? He didn't even do anything until the police started unjustifiably attacking him. And how do YOU know whether he's a bad guy or not? You're just guessing on what he MIGHT have done and making poorly thought out arguments based on conditional and hypothetical possibilities, not on reality. The police had no right using that degree of brute force on someone who wasn't attacking anyone.
your argument is ... ( 1 week ago by vidvidvidvidvid)
your argument is fucking ridiculous. He refused to show ID, so he refused to comply with safety policy, of course that's a threat. You're saying he's not a bad guy until he does something. What kind of moron logic is that? According to such dumb argument,if we all wait until someone does something, then what's the point of all safety measures? Why do you think airport checks your luggage before you board even though it's obvious that not everyone is a terrorist?
Are you ignorant or ... ( 6 days ago by Medulaman683)
Are you ignorant or just retarded? Or maybe obviously a mixture of both because only someone as arrogantly idiotic as you could possibly accuse my argument as being ridiculous while yours is quite possibly the most sub-moronic piece of rubbish I have ever heard. The fact that he didn't show his ID doesn't mean shit you fucking cretin. Again, you completely missed the point of my last post, which makes a hell of a lot more sense and has a hell of a lot more logic than yours did dumbass.
The fact that he ... ( 6 days ago by Medulaman683)
The fact that he didn't show his ID doesn't make him in and of itself any kind of threat! Common logic proves this. Now, if he did something or had a gun or a knife on him then yes, that would be a threat; BUT he DIDN'T! I can't believe you fail to understand that failure to show ID immediately means that someone is a threat or a "terrorist". That kind of ignorant illogical outmoded thinking shouldn't be considered grounds or justification for tazering an innocent person 6 or 7 times.
well i agree ... ( 6 days ago by memberjacket)
well i agree someone was threatened, and the threat was carried out. ges goin to the library and forgeting your id is a pretty heavy offence.

maybe next time the fool will follow procedure. He claimed racial profiling was why he refused. If that was true why would he not just show the card AND THEN file a complaint? The fact is, regardless of whether or not he was a threat, he broke a rule. he was asked to leave, he refused. Thus he was tased. He was given the option to comply, He did not.

buddy... its hard to stand after being tased.
