Unfortunately, if I start a second client while one is already logged in, there is a good chance the second client will be extremely slow even on the login screen. It is fine if I run the second client before I log in to the first.

GREAT HUN, should works good on Imac (intel) 20 inches :DD thnks sweetheart nemoDaedalus On Mac, find the SL apps in the Applications folder, right-click it and choose "Show Package Contents". In the Finder window that pops up, choose folders Contents > Resources. Find the file arguments.txt and open it in TextEdit. Now add "-multiple" (without quotes), save the file and start SL! :)

If you have a problem use a -- instead of a - (double dash not single) when altering the argument.txt file. It didn't work with the single dash.
