rt of slow food and among other guests invited were Michael Pollan, Alice Waters and Eric Schlosser. Like Victory Gardens of yesteryear, start your own homegrown revolution, grow your own food in your back or front yard -- for more information visit the urban homesteaders at http://www.PathtoFreedo

If you can grow your own food, make your own clothes, build your own house, have your own alternative energy sources, build your own transportation vehicle and provide for your childrens education yourself, you have just taken a giant step towards freedom.

This is absolutely wonderful! Just the other day I was thinking, "why do we need lawns?" They're not nearly as beautiful as the gardens we see here in the video. Communal gardens are great social activities as well. Thank you!

I would do the same but my 2000 gallon underground collection tank has been capped and SEALED by the "authorities". I was told that I would be ARRESTED if I was caught using rainwater.
This is all the ongoing plot of rich investors to keep us on the "grid". I intend to get rid of any "lines" entering my property: electric, gas, telephone, water or cables...anything that connects me with greedy middlemen who SCHEME for a living.
I have already cut my "bills" by over 80%.

Absolutely great video and a great idea behind it. It's far easier though to do that in the southern climates than up by the Canadian Border of Minnesota, BUT it can be done on a lesser scale here. And people who feel they can't go full tilt should at least grow SOMETHING. Every little bit helps. Also, it's so satisfying to pick a tomato or lettuce and eat it knowing you grew it and it is clean and healthy.
