Very simplified Changes. Missing the Am7b5 before the D7b9 and the Bm7b5 before the E7 in the bridge. Listen to Kevin Nolan play this rhythm for Robin Nolan.

I'm not agree with you Boldstrummer, there is no missing chords because the essencial harmony is in it. You're talking about chord substitutions, in jazz music everyone are free to change the harmony becoming simple or complicated -if you know the harmony rules it's better to understand-. Your suggested changes could be considered as an apoggiatura and are nice, but in music there is no only one way to do the things.
Listen to Stochelo Rosenberg, they don't play your suggested changes.
